Navigating the Future of Carbon Neutrality: an interdisciplinary energy research approach

To achieve future carbon neutrality, energy systems are transitioning with high renewable energy penetration. Understanding the energy nexus, which connects energy with other sectors, is crucial due to variable renewable energy pressures and fluctuating energy demand. Energy research must expand beyond traditional boundaries to encompass interdisciplinary and systematic topics. This talk explores future challenges and opportunities in interdisciplinary energy research, including renewable energy system flexibility and the role of digitalization in the energy transition. It emphasizes the importance of time, location, humans, and data in energy transitions. By recognizing these factors, we can navigate the complexities of the evolving energy landscape. This discussion highlights the need for interdisciplinary collaboration to address the multifaceted nature of energy research。

主講人簡(jiǎn)介：

歐洲人文與科學(xué)院院士、香港工程科學(xué)院院士、香港理工大學(xué)講座教授、國(guó)際能源期刊Advances in Applied Energy（Elsevier）和Nexus（Cell）創(chuàng)刊主編。Applied Energy顧問(wèn)主編。1991年獲得瑞典皇家理工學(xué)院博士學(xué)位，2001年受聘為瑞典終身講座教授。曾任瑞典呂勒奧理工大學(xué)能源工程系主任，瑞典皇家理工學(xué)院和梅拉達(dá)倫大學(xué)講座教授，未來(lái)能源中心主任。

從事可再生能源技術(shù)與低碳技術(shù)、能源系統(tǒng)集成與優(yōu)化、碳捕集利用與封存和碳貿(mào)易、先進(jìn)發(fā)電技術(shù)與儲(chǔ)能，能源高效利用等領(lǐng)域方面研究。在包括Science，Nature Energy，Nature Climate Change等期刊上發(fā)表論文400余篇，論著文集70余部，專(zhuān)利10余項(xiàng)。國(guó)際應(yīng)用能源大會(huì)主席。國(guó)際創(chuàng)新平臺(tái)UNiLAB，EnerraXiv，EP，iCET等創(chuàng)始人。英國(guó)SUPERGEN新加坡CREATE法國(guó)EFICACITY等專(zhuān)家委員會(huì)，騰訊CarbonX專(zhuān)家委員會(huì)共同主席。世界銀行、亞洲開(kāi)發(fā)銀行、聯(lián)合國(guó)、歐盟等國(guó)際組織專(zhuān)家。曾獲得聯(lián)合國(guó)環(huán)境發(fā)發(fā)展署支持的全球人居環(huán)境綠色技術(shù)獎(jiǎng)等，全球SWFF獎(jiǎng)最終獲提名獎(jiǎng)，歐盟Energy Islands’Award，瑞典皇家工程科學(xué)院Research2Business Top100.國(guó)際綠色能源終身成就獎(jiǎng)。
